It's hard to understand how he could have been rejected.
3 從文章中的上下文知道, 他事實上被拒絕了. 可是句子為什麼是用猜測語氣could have been ?

是。用be是採用了命令句語氣，就是let them be的味道

刪除這裏的divining...是名詞補語，句主詞the problem全等。若要用to V，最好改為：The knottier question is how to divine his motives，這樣比較符合全等要求

刪除大概是「反方面的論點如何？」，亦即What do people like about these shows?

plan「計畫」說的是將來要怎麼做，帶有很重的不確定語氣，所以用to V。problem則沒有這種暗示

特斯拉的使命“Accelerating the World's Transition to Sustainable Energy”（https://www.tesla.com/about），在台灣翻譯為“加速全球轉向永續能源”，在香港/澳門翻譯為“推動全球轉向使用可持續能源”，而在中國大陸翻譯為“加速世界向可持續能源的轉變”。
回覆刪除我認為，“世界”和“可持續能源”並不對等，世界不能向可持續能源轉變，而“世界能源”和“可持續能源”是對等的概念（都是能源範疇）。因此，“世界能源”可以向“可持續能源”轉變。
請問：
1. 這句話是否省略了什麼內容？是否應該還原為“Accelerating the World's (Energy) Transition to Sustainable Energy”以更準確地表達意思？
2. “Accelerate the World's (Energy) Transition to Sustainable Energy”如何分析句子成分？是不是S (省略主詞We)-V (Accelerate)-O [the World's (Energy) Transition] to Sustainable Energy，其中，to Sustainable Energy是介系詞片語？

刪除transition from ... to ...不是比較級，也不是對等連接詞，並不要求對等。例如可以說Taiwan's transition from a labor-intensive to a high-tech form of economy
